Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies
- Certification for Food Safety and Handling preferred
- Valid driver's license required upon hire if providing Home Care and Hospice services
- Ability to perform medium work including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently
Job Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Associate's or vocational degree in the culinary field preferred
- 0 to 2 years of food service experience preferred
- Certification for Food Safety and Handling preferred
- Valid driver's license required upon hire if providing Home Care and Hospice services
Job Duties
- Prepare food in a timely, appealing and appetizing manner
- Prepare food using standardized recipes and proper cooking methods for patients, staff and special functions
- Ensure adequate quantities of food are prepared based on patient need and cafeteria volumes
- Understand special diets and consult with dietitian as needed
- Use proper cooking, cooling and reheating techniques to ensure food safety
- Check temperatures regularly prior to serving food
- Label, date, cover and store food properly
- Utilize sanitizing techniques for food, self and equipment
- Assist in restocking work station
- Assist in putting away grocery orders
- Operate cash register
- Assist with menu development
- Maintain adequate food stock to meet menu requirements and patient requests
- Perform other duties as assigned
