Job Requirements

  • proven ability to read and write English
  • one year of cooking and food preparation experience
  • ability to be active and on feet most of the day
  • ability to lift, push, and pull medium weight objects
  • ability to withstand hot and humid or cold and icy temperatures
  • ability to prepare and assemble food
  • knowledge of local, state, and federal food handling regulations
  • ability to provide necessary care for diverse patient populations
  • medium level of physical demand exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally

Job Duties

  • prepares and cooks food in bulk or individual portions
  • plates and serves food to patients and customers
  • follows standard food service practices and procedures
  • ensures compliance with local, state, and federal food handling regulations
  • maintains cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas
  • lifts, pushes, and pulls medium to heavy weight objects as required
  • interacts respectfully with patients and customers preserving dignity
