Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous kitchen or cooking experience preferred
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
- Capacity to work standing for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to follow safety protocols and instructions
- Excellent manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including mornings and evenings
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a similar cook or kitchen role preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and coffee machines
- Basic cooking skills including baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and food preparation
- Good manual dexterity and ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Team player mindset and flexibility to work AM and PM shifts
Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating ovens, broilers, grills, roasters and other equipment
- Monitor freshness of food and ingredients by checking quality, rotating stock, and following labeling and dating procedures
- Cook and prepare foods using various methods including tasting and food thermometers to ensure proper cooking
- Prepare assigned stations according to company guidelines
- Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
- Season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and supervisor guidance
- Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables
- Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for service
- May bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries
- May wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or other equipment
- Maintain records of food usage
- Assist with inventory and forecasting preparation needs
- Prepare and serve food to customers in a timely manner
- Support culinary staff at various stations as directed
- Communicate with supervisors regarding kitchen equipment and supply needs
- Adhere to and promote company standards for safety, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity
- Provide excellent customer service by being attentive, approachable, and courteous
- Perform other duties as assigned
