Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Two years experience as a cook in restaurant or institutional setting preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Ability to work variable shifts
Job Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate verbal and written forms of English
- Two years restaurant or experience as an institutional cook preparing large quantities of food preferred
- Some post high school culinary arts training preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Duties
- Be at work and be on time
- Follow company and department policies, procedures and directives
- Interact in a positive and constructive manner
- Prioritize and multitask
- Prepare quantity foods for patients, cafeteria, catering, and doctor's dining room, follow cook's preparation methods according to standardized recipes
- Set up and serve hot food on patient tray line according to patient tray tickets
- Follow HACCP guidelines for all steps of food production, Title 22 and JCAHO regulations for food storage, safety and sanitation
- Demonstrate ability to apply infection control policies and procedures for safe food handling
- Demonstrate ability to prepare and cook food for hospital special events
- Perform other related duties as assigned
