Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Accredited food handler certification within 60 days as per state guidelines
- 6 months to 1 year of proven experience as a cook
- Experience with cutting tools cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods including grilling baking boiling etc
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Team player with effective oral and written communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals including soups meats gravies vegetables desserts salads and baked goods from fresh canned dry or frozen states according to recipes
- Adhere to residents' special dietary needs and restrictions
- Monitor all food items for temperature taste and quality taste food to ensure top-notch quality
- Use various utensils and grillers to cook food stirring or turning as needed
- Dress dishes for a great presentation before serving
- Keep the kitchen sanitized and orderly ensuring all equipment is cleaned working properly and turned off before closing
- Store all food and items properly to maintain freshness and safety
- Check and ensure the quality of ingredients
- Monitor stock levels and place orders for shortages with supervisor's approval
- Follow nutrition and sanitation guidelines including governmental and company policies and ensure proper documentation
- Assist in training and orienting new kitchen staff
- Maintain high standards of appearance cleanliness and personal hygiene
- Attend all required in-service training sessions
- Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team
- Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene as per company policies
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
