Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • culinary degree or 1-2 years of culinary experience
  • servsafe certification or ability to obtain upon hire
  • professional food service experience
  • ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • strong communication skills
  • knowledge of hospital kitchen sanitation and safety standards

Job Duties

  • completion of daily meal preparation, cooking, and clean-up tasks as assigned by Chef or Sous Chef
  • prepare meals following recipes explicitly
  • taste prepared meals to ensure quality and correct issues promptly
  • ensure presentation of prepared foods meets highest quality standards
  • notify Chef or Sous Chef of inventory, equipment, safety, or sanitation issues and correct when possible
  • maintain punctuality and attendance for assigned shifts
  • interact professionally with patients, families, and staff
