Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food preparation or cook role preferred
  • Ability to follow food safety standards and company policies
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with cooking and kitchen maintenance
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a food preparation or similar cook role preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP principles
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic math skills for portioning and inventory tracking
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and is responsible for records from area worked during service periods
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, ensuring food and supply items are stored per standards
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving of food and supplies as required
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
  • Adheres to company policies on safety equipment use such as cut gloves, oven mitts and slip-resistant shoes
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Demonstrates personal commitment to safety for self and others
