Job Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination as determined by a completed background investigation
- Completion of pre-employment physical examination and annual examinations thereafter
- Employee must wear a uniform while on duty as provided by employer
- May be required to work on call during irregular work hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules
- Subject to background investigation for Federal employment suitability
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- U.S. citizenship or national status
- Ability to perform cooking duties under normal supervision

Job Duties
- Prepare a variety of simple menu items that require little or no processing such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and fresh or canned vegetables
- Prepare raw fruit and vegetable ingredients as well as completed salads, sandwiches and sandwich fillings
- Prepare food by peeling, chopping, grinding, parting, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring or breading
- Portion foods for distribution and meal service, and cover, date, and store leftovers according to established procedures
- Mix ingredients according to precisely written recipes that produce quality products, minimize preparation time, and avoid food material waste
- Weigh, measure, and assemble ingredients for regular and modified menu items
