Job Requirements

  • Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Requires a minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
  • Requires food knowledge pertaining to soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
  • Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
  • Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions
  • Frequently works with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
  • Frequently works in hot environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
  • Knowledge of food preparation and HACCP standards
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents
  • Comfortable conversing with customers
  • Knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry food preparation
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Able to perform physical activities including bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts
  • Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records for production planning and supply requisition
  • Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
  • Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices and comply with HACCP standards
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment including fryers, griddles, and cutting tools
  • Measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
  • Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products
