Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience as a cook
  • Ability to follow recipe instructions and procedures
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of food preparation and handling
  • Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced setting
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Operate kitchen equipment to prepare, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables and trim and cut meat, poultry and fish for use
  • Control food waste, loss and usage according to operational guidelines
  • Check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up
  • Avoid over preparation while starting food items prepared ahead of time for meetings and events
  • Assist in preparation, production and service of special functions
  • Filter oil in the deep fat fryer daily
  • Store food deliveries, date and rotate containers as required
  • Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment and areas safely
  • Notify managers of equipment or area issues
  • Follow sanitation standards and proper hand washing techniques
  • Prevent cross contamination and practice safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
