This position is offered within the Child Development Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) and is classified as a Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) role. Job Requirements

  • Experience in food preparation gained in grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • knowledge of food service equipment operation and cleaning
  • physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently
  • ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods
  • food handler's certificate or training required
  • successful completion of applicable background investigation
  • must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical
  • education does not substitute for experience
  • proof of eligibility for preference consideration if applicable
  • foreign education equivalency proof if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in methods and procedures relating to food preparation and presentation
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment
  • ability to do simple arithmetic
  • ability to season food properly and decide when foods are done
  • physically able to perform frequent lifting and prolonged standing
  • ability to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler's training
  • successful completion of Tier 1 Level background investigation
