Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of food production experience in similar settings
  • Ability to work first shift with varying start and end times
  • Availability to work every other weekend and rotating holidays
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe Food Handler certification within 1 year
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, squat, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and wear protective clothing as necessary

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent knowledge
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in food production in a hotel, restaurant, or high-end institutional environment
  • Knowledge of diet restrictions and ability to adapt recipes accordingly
  • Proficient time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Review production sheets and recipes to ensure quality and quantity needed for food preparation
  • Prepare food according to daily production reports and established guidelines
  • Measure and mix ingredients based on recipes
  • Operate kitchen utensils and equipment including blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers
  • Cook food using methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • Carve and slice meats and cheeses
  • Garnish, display, and serve food items according to standards and recipes
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of inventories in refrigerators and freezers
  • Monitor food temperatures and follow safe food handling procedures
  • Maintain temperature and production logs as required
  • Monitor accurate portioning and promote food waste control
  • Adapt recipes for diet restrictions and patient age-specific needs
  • Follow department standards for safe food handling, storage, and sanitation
