Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- age over 18 years
- background clearance as required by government regulations
- retain a current food handlers permit
- minimum of two years experience cooking
- negative TB test results
- excellent communication skills including ability to speak, write and read English
- ability to operate computer and necessary software programs including word, email, and excel
- ability to be professional at all times with team members, residents, family members, and visitors

Job Duties
- Arrive to work on time and prepared for your shift
- prepare all food items according to planned menus and recipes ensuring meals are appetizing, nutritional, and meet special dietary requests
- ensure food is served at the correct temperature and charted
- ensure proper plate presentation
- consult with Director of Dining Services on menu changes or substitutions
- maintain cleanliness and organization of food storage areas
- prepare food in compliance with governmental, sanitary, and dietitian regulations
- report any infractions to the Director of Dining Services
- manage food orders upon arrival
- dispose of food and waste per policies
- properly store, label, and date leftovers
- record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers
- maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
- supervise servers and dishwashers
- prepare upcoming menu items by stocking and pulling ingredients
- manage safe storage and efficient use of kitchen inventory
- promote a positive and friendly teamwork attitude
- perform other duties as assigned by management
