Job Requirements
- One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution preferred
- food handlers' card required or food safety certification where required by local ordinance
- fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene
- ability to tactfully communicate with co-workers, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
- regular, predictable, and dependable attendance

Job Duties
- Prepares food in accordance with standard menus and specifications
- follows prescriptions and facility procedures
- ensures proper storage of food and supplies
- supervises serving of meals by wait staff
- directs and assists in cleaning work areas, equipment, and floors
- ensures all residents have received meals
- ensures fire and safety practices and procedures are followed
