Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of culinary experience
  • Valid ServSafe Certification
  • Ability to follow health and safety regulations
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of nutrition
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods
  • Commitment to client-centered service
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Follow all Board of Health requirements and the state of Georgia guidelines
  • Obtain and maintain Certified Food Handler compliance
  • Ensure all menus are approved and signed by the location dietician
  • Follow nutrition requirements and portion sizes
  • Create and post updated menus for clients
  • Ensure that breakfast items are stocked and prepared
  • Ensure food temperatures meet requirements and document in the log book
  • Ensure refrigerator and freezer temperatures meet requirements and document in the log book
  • Sanitize refrigerator and freezer and check for products past expiration date
  • Ensure all dry good storage products are not past expiration date
  • Secure all inventory in a locked storage area
  • Clean kitchen and appliances thoroughly on a daily basis
  • Practice ethics and boundaries with clients
  • Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to supervisor immediately
  • Cook and prepare meals following dietary guidelines, meal modifications, and restrictions per client needs
  • Use culinary cooking techniques, nutrition, diet therapy knowledge, food and sanitation safety, and food waste control
  • Apply knowledge of time temperature standards for food preparation and storage
  • Operate commercial kitchen equipment efficiently
  • Prepare batch scratch food
  • Wear slip-resistant and closed-toe shoes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
