Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior cooking experience preferred
- knowledge of safe food handling practices
- ability to operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
- capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
- good manual dexterity
- strong auditory and visual skills
- ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
- willingness to work Monday through Friday full time

Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating ovens, broilers, grills, and other equipment
- check freshness of food and ingredients and rotate stock according to company labeling and dating procedures
- monitor, cook and prepare foods to determine if they are cooked sufficiently using tasting, smelling, or food thermometers
- prepare stations according to company guidelines
- bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
- season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables
- carve, trim and prepare meats and seafood for service
- bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries
- wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or other cooking equipment
- compile and maintain records of food usage
- assist with inventory
- follow food specification amounts and assist in forecasting preparation needs
- prepare and serve food in a timely manner
- assist culinary staff at multiple stations
- communicate with supervisor about kitchen equipment and supply needs
- adhere to safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform, and productivity standards
- provide excellent customer service including greeting and thanking customers
- perform other duties as assigned
