Job Requirements

  • At least three years of consecutive culinary cooking experience required
  • Ability to work full-time schedule including every other weekend, day and night shifts
  • Ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Commitment to safety protocols including use of gloves, oven mitts, and proper lifting techniques
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Physical ability to handle kitchen duties including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a healthcare foodservice environment

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and production schedules
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, ensuring food temperature and presentation standards
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures and maintains service records
  • Cleans kitchen and maintains high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards food according to safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping, and ordering of food and supplies
  • Reports maintenance needs or accidents promptly
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, and supervisors
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
  • Adheres to company safety policies including use of protective gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques
  • Performs other duties as assigned
