Job Requirements

  • One year of experience cooking food in quantity lots or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • If Associate's degree in Culinary Arts, no experience required
  • No licensure or certification required
  • Ability to work full time in a rotating onsite schedule
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts exempts experience requirement
  • Knowledge of food preparation and safety standards
  • Ability to follow recipes and use measuring techniques

  • Basic math skills for quantity adjustments
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen environment

Job Duties

  • Cooks food, including pastries, desserts, and soups, according to recipes
  • Completes basic mathematical calculations to alter quantities as needed
  • Ensures quality of foods
  • Assists in testing and standardizing recipes
  • Maintains proper temperatures for food
  • Operates and cleans all production utensils and equipment
  • Maintains cooking area in a sanitary, neat and orderly manner
  • Prepares complete meals and special events foods
  • Arranges food in an appealing manner
  • Prepares food, including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, and soups for regular, modified, and calculated diets using weighing and measuring techniques
