Job Requirements

  • High School or GED equivalent preferred
  • 6 months to 1-year related experience training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to present information to customers and small groups
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Food Handler's Permit as required by applicable state
  • Must obtain all local, state, and federal food safety certifications including ServSafe within one year of hire
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, taste, and smell during work
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to respond effectively to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public

Job Qualifications

  • Must obtain and maintain Serv Safe certification within one year of hire

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and production schedules
  • Read, understand, and follow standardized recipes and production sheets
  • Check deliveries of food and supplies and notify the Executive or Sous Chef of needs
  • Secure and rotate stock properly
  • Ensure meals are served at correct temperatures with correct portioning and taste all prepared food items
  • Maintain a sanitary work area and clean food processing equipment and storage
  • Use kitchen equipment safely and help train new staff
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks and assist with special events and banquets
