- Familiarity with sanitation and safety procedures in a food service setting
Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation and serving areas to ensure safety and sanitation
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating kitchen equipment
- Monitor freshness of food and ingredients by checking quality and rotating stock
- Cook and prepare food items using various methods such as baking, roasting, broiling and steaming
- Measure, weigh, and mix recipe ingredients with guidance from supervisor
- Prepare fruits, vegetables, meats, and seafood for service by washing, cutting, trimming, and carving
- Maintain records of food usage and assist with inventory management
- Follow company guidelines on food preparation and safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by being attentive, approachable, and courteous
- Communicate kitchen equipment and supply needs to supervisor
- Assist culinary staff across different stations as needed
- Adhere to all food handling, safety, and uniform standards
