Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year experience in food service environment involving food production
  • Ability to follow instructions and operate cooking equipment
  • Ability to withstand temperature variances
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse group of people
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to comply with safety and sanitation policies
  • Availability to work full-time 40 hours per week
  • Ability to complete required in-service and compliance training

Job Duties

  • Adhere to hospital and departmental policies to promote a cooperative work environment
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer service and satisfaction through effective communication
  • Maintain at least a 97% sanitation rating and NSF double gold rating by following sanitation policies and cleaning assignments
  • Monitor product quality, ensure recipe compliance, and adhere to departmental guidelines
  • Follow workplace safety and sanitation rules and respond to corrective actions
  • Complete required training including compliance, HIPAA, and job specific in-service
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and support other Food and Nutrition Services departments
  • Minimize product waste and control costs by following portion control and proper equipment use
  • Plan workday effectively to meet meal service schedules and monitor food quantities
  • Prepare food using standardized recipes and maintain proper labeling and storage with HACCP documentation
