Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- must be at least 18 years of age
- one year experience demonstrating ability to cook a variety of foods in quantity with knowledge of seasoning and required cooking time
- one year experience demonstrating knowledge of care and use of cooking utensils and equipment
- ability to lift up to seventy-five pounds and move three to four feet
- ability to stand for extended periods and bend, stoop, and reach frequently

Job Duties
- Work with coworkers in a team environment that promotes positive service qualities and respect of residents
- review production information with staff daily
- ensure and monitor correct quantities of production and portioning
- monitor and record production and waste data in the absence of the Executive Chef
- prepare all food items in accordance with departmental standards
- ensure food retains nutritional value, attractive appearance, and palatability and is served at the appropriate temperature
- follow proper guidelines to meet special dietary needs
- be responsible for the overall cleanliness of the kitchen including washing and putting away dishes, cleaning floors and counters, disinfecting necessary areas, and maintaining mats
- be responsible for the overall cleanliness of the dining room including changing tablecloths, vacuuming after meals, and keeping the salad bar area clean
- ensure staff adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment
- guide, assist, and instruct other staff members to ensure smooth and orderly completion of assignments
- plan and organize work schedule so food is prepared in a timely manner
- serve as designated person in charge in absence of manager(s)
- perform additional tasks necessary in service to residents as directed
- assist in serving and delivery of meals when necessary
- prepare and serve special events and catering as needed
- assist in ordering and receiving food, ensuring proper receipt and storage
- assist in training and orientation of new employees as needed
- attend and participate in staff meetings, projects, special events, committees, and mandatory training
- complete competency evaluations for training as required by state or supervisor
- follow all applicable state regulations
- perform other duties as directed
