Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years related work experience
  • Valid ServSafe or approved Food Handler Certification
  • Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
  • Moderate reading and writing skills
  • Manual dexterity
  • Good auditory and visual skills
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and company policies
  • Compliance with uniform and hygiene standards
  • High level of integrity and honesty
  • Ability to work beyond normal hours if needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Prior experience in related food service positions
  • Strong interpersonal and communicative skills

  • Knowledge of restaurant operations and food safety

Job Duties

  • Prepares or directs preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems
  • Determines amount and type of food and supplies required using production estimates
  • Ensures availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation
  • Sets steam table
  • Serves or ensures proper serving of food for tray line or dining
  • Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health regulations
  • Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques
  • Stores food properly and safely, marking date and labeling
  • Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance
  • Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours to ensure excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food
  • Apportions food for serving
  • Maintains daily production records
  • Keeps work area neat and clean at all times including dishwashing
  • Cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation
  • Completes food temperature checks before serving
  • Completes requirements for in-service training, attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
  • Supports mission, values, and vision of the company
  • Cooperates with safety, security, quality assurance, and confidentiality procedures
  • Participates in teamwork and positive communication
  • Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members, and customers
  • Maintains composure under pressure in fast-paced environment
