Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least one year of relevant cooking experience
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • prior kitchen or cafeteria experience preferred
  • experience with safety procedures typical in food service environments

  • prior experience in cafeteria or high-volume food preparation environments preferred

Job Duties

  • Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties and complete opening and closing checklists daily
  • set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • safely use a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items
  • operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, recipes, policies, and procedures
  • handle, store, label, and rotate all food products properly in accordance with state laws
  • stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations
  • understand menu items and prepare ingredients accordingly
  • multitask effectively in a high-volume kitchen
  • work under hot and cold conditions during food preparation
  • perform physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • stand for much of the scheduled shift
  • perform other related duties as assigned
