Job Requirements
- Complete a background investigation with favorable results
- Satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical
- Obtain food handler's certification
- Be able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods
- Work in hot, noisy kitchen environment with exposure to steam, fumes, odors
- Must be U.S. citizen or non-U.S. national with 3-year residency in U.S. territory
- Register for Selective Service if born after December 31, 1959
- Successfully complete employment verification (E-Verify)
- Comply with direct deposit requirement
- Pass probationary period if required
- Able to meet all pre-employment requirements before entrance on duty
- Be aware that Permanent Change of Station costs are not authorized
- Understand this is a Nonappropriated Fund position supporting MWR activities

Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of the methods and procedures relating to food preparation and presentation gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity
- Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment
- Knowledge of characteristics of various foods
- Ability to season food and determine when foods are done
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work safely
- Ability to do simple arithmetic

Job Duties
- Perform a full range of simple cooking tasks by preparing and cooking items such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and fresh or canned vegetables
- Prepare hot cereals, broiled meats, concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies
- Prepare food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, dicing, slicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading
- Weigh, measure, and assemble ingredients for regular menu items
- Wash and clean kitchen equipment
- Mix ingredients according to written recipes to produce quality products, minimize preparation time, and avoid food waste
