Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
  • One or more years of cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
  • Ability to tolerate temperature extremes and exposure to cleaning chemicals
  • Strong attention to food safety and sanitation practices

Job Qualifications

  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by first day of work
  • One or more year of experience as a cook in healthcare or restaurant environment preferred
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to utilize safe food handling techniques
  • Understands workflow, prioritizes tasks, and meets deadlines
  • Exceptional customer service skills preferred
  • Knowledge of preparing modified diets preferred
  • Experience with commercial cooking equipment preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and instructions
  • Serve customers in various venues including catering, retail, and patient care
  • Prepare bulk food items, large-scale production, and specialty meals
  • Maintain an organized and sanitary work environment
  • Ensure proper food quantities and rotation practices
  • Deliver patient meals, cashier, stock supplies, and operate ware-washing machines
  • Interact effectively with customers and team members
