Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
- One or more years of cooking experience preferred
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
- Ability to tolerate temperature extremes and exposure to cleaning chemicals
- Strong attention to food safety and sanitation practices
Job Qualifications
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by first day of work
- One or more year of experience as a cook in healthcare or restaurant environment preferred
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to utilize safe food handling techniques
- Understands workflow, prioritizes tasks, and meets deadlines
- Exceptional customer service skills preferred
- Knowledge of preparing modified diets preferred
- Experience with commercial cooking equipment preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and instructions
- Serve customers in various venues including catering, retail, and patient care
- Prepare bulk food items, large-scale production, and specialty meals
- Maintain an organized and sanitary work environment
- Ensure proper food quantities and rotation practices
- Deliver patient meals, cashier, stock supplies, and operate ware-washing machines
- Interact effectively with customers and team members
