Job Requirements
- Associates degree in Culinary Arts or related field or high school diploma with 2 years experience in cooking
- Availability to work per diem shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to prepare food according to prescribed diet modifications
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to assist in meal planning and cost research
Job Qualifications
- Associates degree in Culinary Arts or a related field
- High school diploma with 2 years experience in short order or restaurant cooking
- Each year of culinary school will be equivalent to 2 years of work experience
- Ability to follow recipes and departmental standards
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Duties
- Properly prepares food in accordance with departmental prep sheets and as directed by department leadership
- Accurately prepares food orders as requested by patients on the At Your Request Meal Ticket
- Proactively assists the department leadership in meal planning and preparation including researching costs of food items and assigning charges to catering menus
- Consistently follows recipes correctly and complies to departmental standards
- Ensures all foods are cooked, prepared and held at proper temperatures
- Provides catering services throughout the hospital as requested
- Maintains cleanliness and safety standards in food preparation areas
