Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • at least one year of relevant cooking experience required
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • prior experience cooking or kitchen experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility a plus
  • experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment

Job Duties

  • Refer to daily prep list at the start of each shift for assigned duties and complete opening and closing checklists daily
  • set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • safely use a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items
  • operate a variety of equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, recipes, policies, and procedures
  • handle, store, label, and rotate all products properly and in accordance with applicable state laws
  • properly stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth serving of food
  • understand menu items and be responsible for prepping ingredients
  • multitask in a high-volume kitchen
  • handle hot and cold work conditions during food preparation
  • perform other related duties as assigned
