Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-3 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Prior experience in related food service positions
- Valid ServSafe or other approved food handler certification
- Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 lbs or less
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Frequent standing, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, and bending
- Maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Required to know and follow safe work practices
- Compliance with company policies related to job safety
Job Qualifications

- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, mixers, and knives
Job Duties
- Prepares or directs preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems
- Determines amount and type of food and supplies required using production data
- Ensures availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation
- Sets steam table
- Serves or ensures proper serving of food for tray line or dining
- Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health
- Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques
- Stores food properly and safely, marking date and rotation
- Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance
- Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours to ensure excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food
- Maintains daily production records
- Keeps work area neat and clean at all times including dishwashing
- Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment used in food preparation
- Completes food temperature checks before serving
- Completes requirements for in-service training, attendance, uniform and dress codes
- Supports the mission, values, and vision of California Fish Grill
- Cooperates with safety, quality assurance, and compliance programs
- Works collaboratively with co-workers
- Uses tactful communication
- Promotes positive public relations with residents and family members
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
