Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Capacity to lift and carry items up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Physical dexterity to handle kitchen tools and equipment
  • Previous cooking experience preferred

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Basic math skills for measuring and weighing ingredients

Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters and other equipment
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking quality, rotating stock and following food labeling and dating procedures
  • Monitor, cook and prepare foods to determine if cooked sufficiently using tasting, smelling, or food thermometers
  • Prepare work stations according to company guidelines
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables and other foods
  • Season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • Wash, peel, cut and seed fruits and vegetables
  • Carve, trim and prepare meats and seafood for hot or cold service
  • Bake breads, rolls, cakes and pastries when required
  • Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
  • Maintain records of food usage and assist with inventory
  • Follow food specification amounts and assist in forecasting preparation needs
  • Prepare and serve food to customers timely
  • Support culinary staff at multiple stations as directed
  • Communicate with supervisor about kitchen equipment and supply needs
  • Adhere to and promote company safety, food handling, sanitation, and uniform standards
  • Provide excellent customer service by being attentive, approachable, greeting and thanking customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
