Job Description

Moos and Brews located at Beale Air Force Base in California is an integral part of the base's Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) activities, supporting both the Air Force and the Space Force communities. Job Requirements

  • Complete a background investigation with favorable results
  • Must be able to work shift hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Pass a pre-employment physical with lifting requirements
  • Obtain Food Handlers certification within specified time
  • Provide proof of eligibility as required
  • Be a U.S. citizen or non-U.S. national with residency requirements
  • Register with Selective Service if applicable
  • Complete employment verification through E-Verify
  • Provide REAL ID or authorized identity documents
  • Fulfill all eligibility and qualification criteria
  • Be prepared for a possible probationary period
  • Understand that PCS costs are not authorized

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in food preparation and presentation in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food service
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of food service equipment operation and cleaning
  • Understanding of food characteristics and seasoning
  • Ability to determine doneness of foods
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • Willingness to work shift hours including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds repeatedly

Job Duties

  • Prepare simple cooking tasks such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers and vegetables
  • Prepare hot cereals and broiled meats
  • Prepare concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces and gravies
  • Make cold sandwich fillings
  • Peel, chop, grind, pare, cut, slice, dice, puree, dredge, flour or bread food
  • Weigh, measure and assemble ingredients
  • Set up and replenish salad bar
  • Portion foods for distribution and meal service
  • Cover, date and store leftovers
  • Wash and clean kitchen equipment
