Job Description
This position is offered by a dedicated Dining Services department, committed to delivering high-quality food service to patrons while adhering to federal, state, and corporate food standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 6 months to 1 year related experience or training
- Food handler's permit as required by state
- Must obtain Serv Safe certification within one year of hire
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods
- Compliance with all food safety and sanitation policies
- Availability to work part-time 11:00 am - 7:00 pm including every other weekend
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 6 months to 1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and correspondence
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one or group settings
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Strong attention to detail in food preparation and sanitation
- Ability to taste food and ensure quality
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Job Duties
- Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes or instructions
- Read, understand, and follow standardized recipes and production sheets
- Use production worksheets for forecasting and record keeping
- Check deliveries of food and supplies from vendors and report needs
- Properly rotate and store stock
- Serve meals using correct portioning and ensure food is at correct temperature
- Maintain sanitary work area and clean food processing equipment
- Use kitchen equipment safely
- Contribute creative input towards daily specials and events
- Perform daily cleaning tasks
- Support storage area organization
- Participate in in-service and safety meetings
- Assist in orienting and training others
- Maintain records of ticket collection during dining services
- Discard food items older than 72 hours daily
- Perform other duties as assigned including banquet and special function support
