Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • At least two years full time cooking experience in a fast paced multi-faceted food service environment such as hotels, hospitals, country clubs or airline catering
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be a self starter with a clean as you go mentality
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret recipes
  • Must successfully complete and maintain LA City Fire Card certification at time of hire or within first 30 days of employment

  • Ability to read and interpret recipes

  • Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Prepares all food items for patient services, cafeteria and catered events
  • Adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures
  • Makes changes as needed to complete the work assignment
  • Maintains and cares for equipment and supplies
  • Documents maintenance and repairs
  • Works off production sheets and follows recipes
  • Prepares food for all designated areas including main kitchen and cafeteria
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation
  • Performs preparations for the following day
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
