Job Requirements
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- Knowledge of Soups, Saute, Broiler, Fry, and Pantry food preparation
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform job functions
- Ability to work with sharp knives, utensils and hot plates
- Ability to work in hot environment
- Ability to frequently immerse hands in water diluted with chemical solutions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience in a high volume, casual dining environment preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques including Soups, Saute, Broiler, Fry, and Pantry
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and policy documents
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds, standing for long periods, and working in hot environments
Job Duties
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items
- Communicate ticket times and potential problems to manager and servers
- Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices compliant with HACCP standards
- Operate kitchen equipment and prepare ingredients such as washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables
- Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products
- Maintain accurate production records and requisition supplies as needed
