Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Prior experience in related food service positions
  • Valid ServSafe or other approved Food Handler Certification
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Frequent standing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling items up to 50 lbs
  • Maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
  • Required to know and follow safe work practices
  • Adherence to company policies, rules and regulations including safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations

  • Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, mixers, and chef's knives

Job Duties

  • Prepares or directs preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems
  • Determines amount and type of food and supplies required using production estimates
  • Ensures availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation
  • Sets steam table
  • Serves or ensures proper serving of food for tray line or dining
  • Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health regulations
  • Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques
  • Stores food properly and safely, marking dates appropriately
  • Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance
  • Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours ensuring quality, temperature, and appearance
  • Apportions food appropriately
  • Maintains daily production records
  • Keeps work area neat and clean at all times including dishwashing
  • Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment
  • Completes food temperature checks before serving
  • Completes in-service training requirements and adheres to uniform and dress codes
  • Supports safety and security protocols including fire and disaster plans
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive data
  • Ensures compliance with quality assurance and regulatory standards
  • Promotes a harassment-free work environment
  • Works cooperatively with coworkers to complete job duties with minimal supervision
  • Communicates tactfully in sensitive situations
  • Follows up appropriately on reported issues
  • Promotes positive public relations with customers and family members
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
