Job Requirements
- Prior cooking experience preferred
- Ability to work full time, Monday through Friday with rotating weekends
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
- Commitment to adhering to all company policies and safety standards
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development
- Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior cooking experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion control
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, healthcare environment
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
- Willingness to attend safety and in-service training sessions
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains records from area worked
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat and ensures food and supply items are stored per standards
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
- Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
- Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
- Personal commitment to safety and adherence to company policies including use of protective gloves and footwear
- Performs other duties as assigned
