Job Requirements
- minimum of a high school diploma or g.e.d. certificate required
- minimum of three (3) years of previous kitchen experience
- food handlers certification required
- serveSafe certification required
Job Qualifications

- culinary education preferred
- minimum of three (3) years of previous kitchen experience
- knowledge of basic knife skills and various kitchen equipment and tools
- knowledge of food safety procedures and regulations as well as time and temperature knowledge
- food handlers certification required
- serveSafe certification required
- basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite including outlook word excel PowerPoint and calendar
Job Duties
- assist with the preparation and service of menu items including pantry items salads soups sauces and pre-preparation of ingredients for entrees
- plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that the excellence quality temperature and appearance of food is preserved
- cook food to order in a timely manner including grilling sautéing baking and blanching while keeping ticket orders down
- correctly prepare and cook all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders
- complete food temperature checks before service
- assist with banquet preparation cooking and service
- collaborate with both the Culinary Team and Service Team to ensure service to guests is perfect
- prepare daily orders and organize components of food needed for preparation for assigned areas
- ensure that supplies food and approved substitutions are available in time for service
- follow the organized preparation list to accomplish tasks within time restraints and limits prior to service
- complete the rotation of food items and daily dating of prepared food to ensure the freshest product is served to guests
- follow all established food production programs and procedures
- practice and observe proper food preparation and handling techniques
- clean all kitchen equipment by sanitizing all surfaces sweeping and scrubbing the floors and walls
- keep all kitchen work areas clean and organized at all times
- comply with established sanitation standards including personal hygiene and health standards
- represent FiveStar Lifestyles in a professional manner at all times
- perform other related tasks as assigned
