Job Requirements

  • Experience of six months in healthcare or restaurant facility
  • Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or obtain within one year of hire
  • Capability to work in fast paced environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to follow instructions

Job Qualifications

  • Six months experience in healthcare or restaurant facility
  • Possess Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or obtain within one year of hire
  • Knowledge of basic math skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • High school diploma or GED or culinary degree preferred
  • Two years experience as a cook in a healthcare facility preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare and present high quality food within specified time frame for patient and retail services
  • Follow safe food handling procedures
  • Take customer’s orders and prepare according to recipe with additional specifications or dietary needs
  • Ensure compliance with Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification standards or equivalent
  • Work efficiently in a fast paced environment
  • Adapt to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
