Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of relevant cooking experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience with safety procedures in a food service environment
- Prior kitchen or cooking experience preferred
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments
- Must comply with drug-free workplace policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of relevant cooking experience
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
- Experience working in a cafeteria or large volume food production facility is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
Job Duties
- Refer to daily prep list at the start of each shift for assigned duties and complete opening and closing checklists daily
- Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Safely use a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items
- Operate various kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
- Comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, recipes, policies, and procedures
- Handle, store, label, and rotate all products properly according to applicable state laws
- Prep ingredients and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure smooth serving
- Multitask in a high-volume kitchen while handling hot and cold work conditions
- Stand and be on feet for much of the scheduled shift
- Perform other related duties as assigned
