Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, reaching, and bending
- capacity to handle hot and cold kitchen environments and work with various kitchen equipment
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cook in a fast-paced environment such as restaurant, catering, or hotel setting preferred
- knowledge of cooking techniques, cuisines, and food safety standards
- ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- excellent time management and organizational skills
- ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals and dishes according to established recipes and standards
- assist in menu planning and development, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- manage food inventory, including storage, rotation, and portion control to minimize waste
- collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service
- monitor food preparation and presentation to ensure quality standards are met
- handle kitchen equipment and utensils safely and responsibly
