Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • related experience in cooking, baking, or culinary arts
  • valid Georgia driver’s license
  • availability to work flexible hours
  • ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • willingness to obtain ServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in cooking, baking, culinary arts, or related field
  • knowledge of food safety procedures
  • skill in the use of cooking equipment
  • effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • ability to work with the public and coworkers diplomatically
  • ability to operate computers and use software such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • ability to train and supervise volunteers and interns

Job Duties

  • Prepares meals following approved menus and safety guidelines
  • serves prepared food with proper portion control
  • sanitizes and cleans kitchen and cafeteria areas including equipment and utensils
  • maintains inventory and records of food and supplies
  • supervises interns and volunteers, coordinates and trains them
  • operates a personal computer for data entry and record-keeping
  • communicates effectively with officials, supervisors, coworkers, clients, contractors, and the public
  • performs other related duties as assigned
