Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or Bronze level ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate
- must complete Defensive Driving training
- must become certified in CPR and First Aid within three months of hire
- must obtain and retain a Food Handler's certification card within 30 days of employment
- able to stand and walk for extended periods
- able to lift up to 50 pounds
- able to follow safety protocols and use protective clothing and equipment
- valid New Mexico Class D Driver's License required
- subject to pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening
- subject to criminal background check
- ability to work primarily in kitchen and dining settings with occasional outdoor work
- willing to work irregular hours if needed
Job Qualifications

- ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- skilled in operating kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, steamers, food processors, and knives
- skilled in basic use of computers and office equipment
- skilled in basic arithmetic operations
- Spanish language skills are desirable
Job Duties
- Prepares, seasons, cooks, portions, and serves meals and snacks to provide nutritionally balanced meals for patrons
- preserves raw and prepared foods to prevent spoilage and contamination adhering to health guidelines
- cleans, sanitizes, and maintains work area, kitchen equipment, utensils, lunchroom, dishes, kitchen and dining areas
- plans and prepares daily menu
- records food served and portioned to patrons daily
- orders and conducts inventories of food and food supplies
- manages supplies, equipment, and other kitchen resources
- unloads and stocks bulk raw food products and supplies for senior meal sites
- provides catering and sack lunches for special events and activities
