Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food handler permit or ServSafe certification by first day of work
- One or more years of experience in food industry or cooking preferred
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Willingness to follow safe food handling practices
- Availability to work variable shifts including early mornings and evenings
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and tolerate temperature extremes
Job Qualifications
- Food handler permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
- One or more years of experience in the food industry or as a cook preferred
- Demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of safe food handling techniques
- Understanding of workflow management, prioritization, and deadlines
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service preferred
- Experience with modified diets and commercial cooking equipment preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and instructions
- Maintain an organized and sanitary working environment
- Manage bulk food production and assembly of specialty meals and catered items
- Interact with customers in catering, retail outlets, or patient care settings
- Deliver patient meals, operate ware-washing machines, cashier, and stock supplies as needed
- Follow safe food handling and sanitation protocols
- Ensure proper food production quantities with appropriate product rotation
