Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food handler permit or ServSafe certification by first day of work
  • One or more years of experience in food industry or cooking preferred
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to follow safe food handling practices
  • Availability to work variable shifts including early mornings and evenings
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and tolerate temperature extremes

Job Qualifications

  • Food handler permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
  • One or more years of experience in the food industry or as a cook preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of safe food handling techniques
  • Understanding of workflow management, prioritization, and deadlines
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service preferred
  • Experience with modified diets and commercial cooking equipment preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes and instructions
  • Maintain an organized and sanitary working environment
  • Manage bulk food production and assembly of specialty meals and catered items
  • Interact with customers in catering, retail outlets, or patient care settings
  • Deliver patient meals, operate ware-washing machines, cashier, and stock supplies as needed
  • Follow safe food handling and sanitation protocols
  • Ensure proper food production quantities with appropriate product rotation
