Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school or GED preferred or equivalent job experience
  • Knowledge of food production techniques
  • Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards
  • Ability to follow strict sanitation and safety guidelines
  • Strong work ethic and ethical conduct
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and proper food handling

Job Duties

  • Produce menu and special event food items following standardized recipes and systems
  • Ensure food and sanitation standards are met by complying with HACCP regulations and safety guidelines
  • Provide quality service to patients, hospital associates, and customers of the cafeteria, catering, and other services
  • Maintain compliance with hospital and department requirements for federally funded healthcare programs
  • Practice safe food handling techniques including proper hand washing, food storage, and cooking at correct temperatures
  • Use quantity recipes, production sheets, batch cooking, and portion control to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Promote a positive cooperative attitude and flexibility to meet department goals
