Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification
- Proven experience as a cook in senior living, healthcare setting, or similar environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
- Ability to lift and handle heavy pots, pans, and trays
- Flexibility to adapt to changing dietary needs and menus
- Strong communication and cooperation skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary school or relevant culinary certification preferred
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification required
- Proven experience as a cook preferably in senior living, healthcare, or similar environments
- Strong culinary skills across various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Ability to adapt to changing menus and resident preferences
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Job Duties
- Provide excellence in service through meal preparation that meets residents' dietary needs
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop menus including special diets such as low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified options
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations including HACCP principles
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment ensuring all equipment is properly functioning
- Work collaboratively as part of a cohesive team with kitchen staff and servers
- Support a positive and respectful work atmosphere
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards in meal preparation
