Job Requirements
- pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment
- provide proof of work eligibility status upon request
- pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks
- demonstrate sensitivity and competence in responding to cultural and socio-economic characteristics of service populations
- provide excellent customer service using organizational and planning skills
- maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene
- work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure
- maintain computer literacy required to meet job responsibilities
- distinguish small details and markings near the observer
- work effectively without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- demonstrate working knowledge of Compass Connections policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- certifications in first aid, CPR, emergency behavior intervention
- six months of related experience and/or training
- ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish
- knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen equipment operation
- strong organizational and planning skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Job Duties
- maintain sanitary conditions in work and food service areas that meet or exceed all licensing and policy requirements
- operate kitchen equipment and report any malfunctioning equipment immediately
- produce a standard food product by weighing and measuring ingredients accurately
- maintain knowledge of materials and equipment used in food preparation and cooking
- implement Compass Connections safety protocols including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency
- work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary or requested by the position supervisor
- maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations
