Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least one year of relevant cooking experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Prior experience cooking or kitchen experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility a plus
  • Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment

Job Duties

  • Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift and complete opening and closing checklists daily
  • Set up workstation with needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Safely use a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items
  • Use and operate various kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • Consistently comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, recipes, policies, and procedures
  • Handle, store, label, and rotate all products properly in accordance with state laws
  • Properly stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations
  • Understand and prepare menu items and ingredients
  • Multitask effectively in a high-volume kitchen
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
