The Child Development Center located on Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina Air Base, operates as a Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) entity providing vital childcare services to military families and personnel stationed at the base. Serving as an essential support facility, the center focuses on offering a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children while their parents fulfill duties associated with military service. Job Requirements
- Must have immunizations including annual flu, DT, HEB A, HEB B, Varicella, and MMR
- able to pass a physical examination
- able to obtain Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler's training
- successful completion of Tier 1 Level background investigation
- demonstrate dependability and efficiency in work
- meet USDA requirements and established preparation and serving times
- complete pre-employment physical
- maintain pediatric first aid and rescue breathing (or CPR) certification
- wear hair net and adhere to personal hygiene standards
Job Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation and knowledge of food characteristics
- knowledge of meal planning and cooking processes
- ability to perform yield testing and adjust recipes
- knowledge of food ordering, issuing, and storage procedures
- physical ability to perform frequent lifting and constant movement
- ability to adhere to sanitation and safety regulations
- experience working in grill, snack bar, restaurant, club, or similar food service environment
Job Duties
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds frequently
- stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, and bend constantly
- prepare and cook entire meals on time following preplanned menus
- perform yield testing to determine portion cost and adjust recipes
- order, issue, and store food according to procedures
- maintain stock levels to meet menu requirements
- maintain sanitation and fire safety standards meeting satisfactory ratings
