Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a cook preferred
  • Applicable state or county licensure
  • Food Manager Certification required or ability to obtain
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred
  • Availability to work holidays and weekends
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one years experience as a cook preferred
  • Food Manager Certification required or ability to obtain
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or senior living environment is a plus
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and food safety procedures

Job Duties

  • Ensuring the proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and standardized recipes
  • Tasting and preparing food to determine quality
  • Preparing all special dietary needs as directed by the Dining Services Director and/or menus assigned
  • Determining food and supplies needed and coordinate meal production with serving hours
  • Assisting with proper documentation of temperature logs, taste panel forms, and cleaning schedules
  • Assisting with orientation and training of new kitchen staff
  • Handling food in a safe and appropriate manner
