Job Requirements
- Complete a favorable background investigation
- Be able to work shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays and special situations
- Pass a pre-employment physical with lifting requirement
- Complete food handlers certification training within specified time
- Be physically able to lift objects up to 40 pounds frequently
- Be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods
- Provide proof of eligibility by closing date
- Meet qualification and eligibility standards
- Be a US Citizen or Non-US National with residency
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
- Agree to direct deposit payment
- Pass employment verification (E-Verify)
- May be required to complete probationary period
- Must provide REAL ID or authorized combination of identity documents

Job Qualifications
- Experience in and knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods gained in grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar environment
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work safely and perform simple arithmetic
- Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment
- Ability to season food and determine when it is done
- Open to all applicants including military spouses, veterans and those with priority consideration
- Some federal jobs allow education substitution for experience
- Foreign education may be used if equivalent to US education
Job Duties
- Perform a full range of simple cooking tasks such as preparing and cooking pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers and vegetables
- Prepare hot cereals and broiled meats
- Prepare concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces and gravies
- Make cold sandwich fillings
- Prepare food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring or breading
- Weigh, measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
- Set up and replenish salad bar
- Portion foods for distribution and meal service
- Cover, date and store leftovers as per procedures
- Wash and clean kitchen equipment
